When We Recommend Replacement
Outdated Openers
Federal regulations (UL 325) were updated in 1993 to improve garage door opener safety. If your opener was manufactured before this date, it likely wouldn’t pass inspection. In such cases, we recommend replacing it. This also includes ensuring that safety eyes are properly installed and positioned.
Safety Concerns with Specific Brands
If a manufacturer has faced legal action due to safety defects, we will not service that brand.
Logic Board Problems
Our trained technicians thoroughly inspect the logic board of all motors during safety checks. If we detect any signs of excessive wear or potential issues with the logic board, we may suggest replacing the entire motor.
Discontinued Brands
For openers from brands that no longer exist, replacement parts are often unavailable. In these cases, replacing the opener is usually the only viable solution.
